The Approach
Two frameworks.
One integrated practice.
Every supervisory relationship I hold is grounded in two frameworks that I believe belong together: the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Buddhist Psychology.
UDL means supervision is built around how you learn, not a fixed template you have to fit yourself into. Multiple means of engagement, representation, and expression aren't accommodations; they're the design.
Buddhist Psychology brings impermanence, non-attachment, and compassionate awareness into the clinical frame, for your clients and for you. We hold the work lightly without holding it carelessly.
Universal Design for Learning
Supervision structured around your learning style, not a one-size-fits-all model. Flexible engagement, multiple modalities, and a pace that serves your development.
Buddhist Psychology
Mindfulness, impermanence, and compassionate non-attachment as clinical tools, for working with clients and for sustaining yourself in the work.
Queer & Trans Affirming
Identity-affirming supervision isn't a specialty add-on. It's the foundation. You don't have to translate yourself here.

What supervision looks like in Alaska.
Supervision requirements are set by the Alaska Board of Marital and Family Therapy (Alaska BMFT). All formats I offer (individual, group, and direct observation) are designed to meet your board's requirements while going well beyond the minimum.
Individual Supervision
- Counts toward Alaska BMFT individual hours
- Weekly or biweekly sessions

Group Supervision

Alaska MFT licensure requirements
Pre-licensed title: Marital and family therapy associate
- Client contact
- 1,700 hours with couples, individuals, and families after the degree
- Supervision
- 200 hours, at least 100 individual
- Other requirements
- Domestic violence training, the national MFT exam, and a state exam
- Video supervision
- Telesupervision is allowed when the supervisor has completed teletherapy training and the connection is secure (12 AAC 19.210).
- Supervisor requirements
- The board approves each supervisor and each associate's supervision plan. Individual supervisors must be Alaska-licensed MFTs with five continuous years of licensed MFT practice and recent supervision training.
